Folia Cryptogamica Estonica fasc. 49 contains nine peer-reviewed papers about lichens and fungi, obituaries of Erast Parmasto and Taimi Piin, as well as bibliography of biological publications by Erast Parmasto. In the section of new Estonian records, 8 lichenized and 7 lichenicolous fungi are reported as new for the country. In scientific contributions, lichens and lichenicolous fungi of South West Greenland, different parts of Russia (Leningrad Region, Middle Urals, Central Siberia and Komi Republic) and Poland are treated. A further paper presents endophytic fungi of Timothygrass from Estonia.
